“It is with a mixture of sadness and gratitude for the 17 fantastic years I have had here, that I have decided to leave LCHS when my current term concludes in September. It feels like the right time to move on to new challenges and opportunities,” said Mr Leigh.
“I have notified the LCHS Board, which will be responsible for recruiting the next CEO. I will be available to ensure a stable, smooth transition to the successful candidate.
“I have been very fortunate to work with an incredible group of people during my time here and I look forward to reflecting more on my journey with LCHS closer to September. But for now there is a busy agenda of work in front of us as we continue to pursue our strategic plan priorities.”
Latrobe Community Health Service Board Chair Judi Walker thanked Mr Leigh for his contribution to the organisation.
“I want to thank Ben for his service to Latrobe Community Health Service. He will leave the organisation as a strong, vibrant and influential community health service that is helping more people than ever before,” said Professor Walker.
“The Board already has a recruitment plan in place to find a new CEO. Implementation of that plan has begun, and we are confident of attracting exceptional candidates.
“LCHS is a growing, innovative and effective community health service. Directors are grateful to Ben for his leadership, and we are excited about the organisation’s future with a new CEO in place towards the end of this year.”
