Our respiratory nurse can help you better understand your condition and treatment, keep an eye on your activities and work with you to plan for a healthier life.

The respiratory nurse can also talk to community groups, workplaces and schools about asthma management, smoking, and other breathing issues.

A respiratory nurse can assist with:

  • managing your asthma
  • living well with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
  • how to best manage if you have been diagnosed with emphysema
  • managing asbestos-related diseases
  • gaining more benefit from using home oxygen therapy
  • stopping smoking.

Who is eligible?

Respiratory nurse services are available to people who work, live or study in Latrobe City. We prioritise our services for people on low-medium incomes and holders of concession cards.

Respiratory nurse services are available for people with eligible DVA referrals. All DVA referrals are home visits only.

How much does this service cost?

Concession card holders

  • $19.45 per consult

Non-concession card holders

  • $31.90 per consult

  • $118.45 per hour
