Local Area Coordination (LAC)

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) fundamentally changes how disability services are delivered in Australia. At Latrobe Community Health Service, we are proud to provide planning and community connection services as a partner with the National Disability Insurance Agency.

What is local area coordination (LAC)?

Local area coordination (LAC) involves preparing communities for the rollout of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), through outreach, workshops and community engagement.

Latrobe Community Health Service works to connect people living with a disability to informal and natural supports that are already available in the community.

We provide assistance with the planning process, and ensuring plans are implemented effectively.

We also work with the community and service providers to build inclusion and awareness of the needs of people with disability.
